What’s new? Cellwatch Central™
Many Fortune 100 customers have standardized on Cellwatch as their battery monitoring solution of choice.
To date, those organizations on campuses with multiple buildings and multiple battery rooms have limitedt options to pull all the Cellwatch systems together on one screen.
NDSL has been working hard to solve that problem and we now have a solution. We call it Cellwatch Central and it will be available in 2008 following trials in Europe.
Work started in 2002 to provide a real time consolidation and database application and since then the program developed and improved. The server program runs on the user’s own dedicated Windows server and constantly monitors between 2 to 15 Cellwatch iBMUs over a network or over the Internet.
Remote users then can view and interact with real-time, summary condition data, served from Central such as alarm status, battery condition, and alarm history using a standard web browser on their desktop or laptop PC.
It’s not been an easy journey. Having a single server monitoring, in real time, up to 15 Cellwatch systems and serving data to 6 different web viewers is quite a challenge. Every time Microsoft updates their ubiquitous Internet Explorer web browser the design rules change and the software has had to be modified.
However, these hurdles have been overcome and when the trials are complete in Europe, the product will be launched later this year for installation on customer servers.
What’s new? Cellwatch, en Français
A new version of Cellwatch software was released in 2006 that included the ability to switch the entire user interface over to French. This has been very well received by customers in Europe but it has been a much harder task trying to bring all the technical literature up to the same standard.
The Cellwatch manual is a comprehensive, accessible guide and contains 200 pages of accumulated product knowledge from over 10 years of experience for the both the installer and the user. This has finally been translated into French and will be printed and shipped with all French orders when complete. It will also be available for free download from the French language, Cellwatch website.
